Quality Assurance Manager Purpose of the role

As the Quality Assurance Manager, you are responsible for ensuring that all food products meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards. You will lead the development and implementation of food safety programs, quality programs, and oversee audits, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain high standards throughout the operations process. This role is pivotal in maintaining compliance, continuous improvement, and fostering a culture of quality across the operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implementing and maintaining food safety systems (e.g., HACCP, BRCGS) Conducting internal and external audits. Update job knowledge by studying trends in and developments in quality management; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; networking.
  • Monitoring production processes for compliance.
  • Managing non-conformance and corrective actions.
  • Training staff on quality and food safety standards.
  • Investigate and address root causes, to prevent recurring matters provide corrective measures to be implemented and maintain sound relations with suppliers and customers.
  • Validating cleaning, sanitation procedures and operations SOPs.
  • Maintain supplier compliance.
  • Liaising with regulatory bodies and customers.
Education
  • 3 year post matric qualification in Food Technology/Science, Microbiology, or related field.
Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in food quality assurance or food safety
  • High computer literacy (MS D365 advantage)

Compensation

The Company offers a Total Guaranteed Remuneration Package which comprises provident funds, insured benefits, medical aid, and an option to structure an annual bonus.
