Swellendam Area - Western Cape: This company is a leading grower, packer, and exporter of fresh fruit in South Africa. Their production units are situated across the Western Cape, with their head office in Bellville near Cape Town

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Applicants should be post-matric with a relevant tertiary qualification in agriculture, with at least 3 years' experience in the cultivation of citrus and/or avocados
  • Knowledge of modern production practices
  • Specific knowledge/experience in irrigation practices will be to your advantage
  • Good leadership and communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel)
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO
  • Production: Plant, schedule irrigation, apply fertilizer, pest, plague and weed control, prune, harvest, monitoring, all manipulations
  • Personnel and administration: Labor planning and management, recordkeeping, plan transport and accommodation, maintenance (equipment / orchards / general)
  • Financial: Cost control by focusing on productivity
