As Principal Consultant at CSS, you will take on a critical leadership role, helping the company maintain its high standards of strategic thinking and collaboration as it scales. Unlike traditional consulting positions, this role emphasizes strategic advice and organizational leadership over day-to-day project oversight. The role is designed for an experienced professional seeking high-impact work within a balanced model of sustainability. You will work closely with the company's Director and leadership team, guiding complex strategic initiatives, strengthening organizational coordination, and enhancing the firm's operational maturity. This role involves three days in the office per week, with working hours designed to facilitate a sustainable work-life balance.

• Help shape the strategic direction and intellectual framing of complex consulting engagements.
• Guide teams toward clear, practical, and high-impact recommendations.
• Support senior problem-solving on complex sustainability, finance, and systems-level challenges.
• Provide strategic oversight across the project portfolio, ensuring alignment with priorities and commercial objectives.
• Mentor and coach senior team members to foster capability development and leadership growth.
• Build and strengthen trusted relationships with senior clients and ecosystem partners.
• Support business development, including strategic proposals and opportunity development.

• 8-10+ years of experience in strategy consulting, sustainable finance, climate advisory, or related fields.
• Strong track record of leading complex projects, teams, or portfolios of work.
• Experience working with senior stakeholders and executive-level clients.
• Strong systems thinking, communication, and leadership capability.
• Commercial awareness and business development experience.
• Post-graduate qualification in Finance, Economics, or Sustainability.
• Willingness to travel locally and internationally from time to time.
• 1+ years of work experience with Sustainable Finance.
• 5+ years of Business Consulting and Services experience.
• Experience working in a hybrid setting.
