We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our thriving medical practice.
As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our dental team and ensuring the smooth operation of our dental office.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for patient care, excellent communication skills, and a strong attention to detail.
Responsibilities- Assist dentists during procedures by handing them instruments and performing other tasks as needed
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations and procedures
- Take and develop dental X-rays
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques
- Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment
- Schedule patient appointments and manage patient records
- Perform basic laboratory tasks such as mixing materials for dental impressions
- Provide administrative support as needed
- Completion of a Dental Assistant program or equivalent certification
- Understanding of dental procedures terminology and hygiene practices
- Knowledge of infection control protocols and safety procedures in medical settings
- Ability to assist with chairside procedures including preparing tools, equipment, and materials
- Proficiency in taking and developing dental X-rays
- Knowledge of sterilization methods for instruments and equipment
- Skill in maintaining accurate patient records and charts
- Effective communication with patients to ensure comfort and understanding of procedures
- Collaborative teamwork with dentists, hygienists, and other staff members
- Ability to provide oral health education and instructions to patients
- Professional and empathetic demeanor to build trust and rapport with patients
- Capability to manage appointments and scheduling efficiently
- Multi tasking skills to handle various responsibilities simultaneously
- Attention to detail in maintaining a clean and organized work environment
- Physical stamina and dexterity to stand, bend, and assist in procedures for extended periods
- Manual dexterity and hand eye coordination for precise manipulation of tools and instruments
- Ability to lift and move heavy equipment or assist patients with mobility issues
- Adherence to policies, regulations, and ethical standards in the medical practice industry
- Commitment to confidentiality and privacy of patient information
- Continuous learning and improvement in dental assisting techniques and best practices
- 2 to 3 years experience in a Dental Practice as a Dental Assistant
