Location: Prospecton, Durban Contract type: Fixed-Term Contract

Ramsay Engineering would like to offer the opportunity to all employees who meet the requirements for the position that is available to apply.

Job objectives: Elimination of Waste
  • Manage the A3 Problem Solving Activities on the Total Quality Board (TQM)
  • Ensure that suspect components are dealt with accordingly.
  • Create and maintain Inspection Sheets in conjunction with the Control Plan.
  • Manage containment activities and feedback to the customer where required.
  • Process Audits Health, Safety & Environment
  • Make suggestions to improve and reduce defects.
  • PFMEA and Control Plans.
  • TQM Board - Problem Solving Activities
5S
  • Practise and improve 5S in your work area in line with the 5S check sheet.
  • Promote 5S condition in affected working areas as well as common work areas as allocated.
  • Ensure PPE is worn according to work standards
  • All incidents need to be reported within the first hour of incident and within the same shift.
  • Perform all activities in a safe manner. Report any issues immediately.
Quality
  • Part Quality - Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action
  • Control of non conforming products
  • Product Identification and status
  • Measuring instruments and Gauges (calibration)
  • Ensure all Quality requirements are stipulated and controlled in the control plan
  • Managing Project Quality Activities in conjunction with the Project Manager
Delivery
  • Dunnage & Packaging.
  • Creation and maintaining of Customer Certificate of Conformance (COC)
  • Escalating of quality concerns.
  • Manage & Maintain the Total Quality Management Board (TQM) Daily.
  • Responsible for own personal attendance to ensure it is 98% on a ongoing basis.
  • Responsible for own personal development in line with the company strategy.
  • Enforce & adhere to all policies & procedures.
Competencies and Attributes Required
  • Use of Measuring Equipment.
  • Understanding of production processes.
  • Managing Change & Uncertainty.
  • Quality Control Systems within the Automotive Industry.

  • All Ramsay Members including Management.
External customers:
  • Toyota
Job Specification Technical skills and specialist knowledge:

  • Ability to plan & work in accordance to schedules.
Qualifications:
  • Matric Maths and Science.
  • Engineering Student requiring P1/ P2 experiential learnership
