An established manufacturing operation is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead and oversee Die Shop operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving operational efficiency, managing production processes, maintaining high quality standards, and leading a high performing team within a fast paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee all Die Shop operations
  • Maintain and monitor die performance databases and reporting systems
  • Analyze die performance trends and implement improvement initiatives
  • Coordinate with production, planning, drawing office, and die manufacturing teams to improve operational performance
  • Ensure die availability and optimal production scheduling
  • Supervise triding equipment and ensure process compliance
  • Lead, motivate, support, and develop operational teams
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and operational efficiencies
  • Monitor and control operational expenditure and equipment performance
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards, safety regulations, and company policies
  • Investigate customer complaints and implement preventative actions where required
  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
Requirements
  • Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in operations management and process control
  • Experience working with milling and lathe machines
  • Qualified Artisan background will be highly advantageous
  • Experience within aluminium extrusion and die correction processes
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Strong understanding of die maintenance and technical problem solving
  • Proven supervisory and management experience
  • Experience managing teams of approximately 20 staff members
  • Valid Code 8 driver's licence
  • Willing to work overtime when required as well as occasionally on Saturday
