Job Description
We're seeking a skilled and driven OPERATIONS CHEF to support the culinary leadership and operational excellence across a dynamic group of restaurants - comprising a Greek restaurant, a premium steakhouse, and an Italian eatery.
Working from the Head Office in Wynberg, Johannesburg, and across all store locations, the Operations Chef will play a pivotal role in ensuring consistency, innovation, and profitability across diverse dining concepts, while directly supporting the Executive Operations Chef in delivering excellence.
Experience & Qualifications- Culinary diploma or equivalent professional certification
- 5-7+ years in fine dining or premium casual kitchens, with multi outlet exposure preferred
- Proven track record in menu execution, cost control, and operational consistency
- 2-3+ years in leadership, managing brigades and kitchen teams
- Strong supplier coordination and procurement skills
- Ability to balance creative input with disciplined operational management
- Assist in directing culinary operations across three distinct restaurant concepts
- Support menu development, seasonal innovation, and brand aligned culinary identity
- Oversee food costing, procurement, and supplier relationships with a focus on sustainability and profitability
- Ensure compliance with hygiene, safety, and operational standards across all outlets
- Mentor and develop junior chefs and kitchen staff, fostering a culture of discipline and creativity
- Collaborate with the Executive Operations Chef and management team to align culinary operations with overall business goals
R35,000 - R45,000 CTC, no additional benefits
