Purpose

To support the health, safety, and well-being of all employees by delivering clinical care, preventing workplace injuries and illnesses, and ensuring compliance with occupational health standards in a food production environment.

Main Duties
  • Administer and dispense medication and treatment to employees on-site, where required.
  • Provide Family Planning information and administering contraceptives as needed.
  • Maintain employee's medical files up to date.
  • Ensures that contents of first aid boxes on-site are adequate and in line with compliance requirements, lists of contents and protocols re the management of these.
  • Ensure that all Work-related incidents are timeously assessed and treated - either by administering appropriate care in situ or referring the case to the Company's doctor or other suitable general practitioner. Maintain accurate and complete records of all work incidents.
  • Perform patient assessments, record medical histories, determine how an injury or illness may have occurred, develop or contribute to treatment plans.
  • Co-ordinate Audiometry testing at suitable facilities and with appropriately qualified practitioners, as required.
Desired Education
  • Registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
  • Post Graduate Diploma/Certificate in Occupational Health Nursing.
  • Valid Dispensing License and SANC Membership.
  • Valid First Aid Certificate.
