Network Operations Centre Engineer
Job Description
Kick-start your career in the online gaming world and experience the very latest in technology and innovation with DigiOutsource, part of Super Group - a leading NYSE listed digital gaming company.
As a Network Operations Centre Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering a high quality, resilient, and proactive operations service. You will take ownership of real time platform monitoring, advanced incident detection, independent triage, and second line troubleshooting. You will drive effective escalation paths, coordinate with engineering teams, and contribute to rapid service restoration during live events. You will also produce accurate operational documentation and improve incident processes to support platform stability and seamless customer experiences.
Responsibilities- Monitoring & Observability - use Grafana, Datadog, SolarWinds, and Nagios to interpret dashboards, review alerts, and identify abnormal performance patterns or traffic deviations. Correlate real time metrics, logs, and telemetry to detect system health concerns and escalate appropriately.
- Networking & Platform Operations - apply TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, TLS, load balancing, and CDN knowledge to troubleshoot platform issues. Use distributed systems, caching, and messaging component understanding to assist fault isolation and impact assessment.
- Incident Management Tooling - use Jira for structured incident tracking, escalation, and resolution workflows. Operate on call platforms such as PagerDuty and maintain runbook documentation for consistent incident response.
- Diagnostics & Troubleshooting - perform first pass triage on server health, application performance, API latency, and database connectivity. Analyse logs, metrics, and system indicators to narrow root cause direction during high pressure incidents.
- Scripting & Automation - write basic Bash, Python, or PowerShell scripts for log extraction, parsing, or system checks. Assist with automating recurring operational tasks to reduce manual effort and improve consistency.
- Cloud & Container Technologies - support cloud based troubleshooting or triage with AWS, Azure, or GCP fundamentals. Provide basic exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, and log stacks such as ELK/Opensearch, Splunk, or Loki/Promtail to aid diagnosing distributed workloads.
- Clear, confident communication (written and verbal) and ability to break down complex ideas.
- Collaborative mindset, working smoothly with cross functional teams to hit shared goals.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple projects without dropping the ball.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to high quality work.
- Adaptability - stay sharp, productive and positive in fast moving environments.
- A relevant IT qualification or industry certification such as CompTIA A+ / Network+ or Cisco CCNA, or equivalent intermediate level technical certification.
- 3-5 years' experience in Operations, NOC, or Incident Management focused on real time monitoring, incident detection, and structured escalation.
- 3-5 years' hands on experience using at least one major monitoring platform (Nagios, SolarWinds, Datadog, Grafana, Zabbix) with alert interpretation and basic correlation.
- 3-5 years' experience using enterprise ITSM tools such as Jira, ServiceNow, or Freshservice.
- Practical exposure to ITIL Incident Management, demonstrated by ITIL v4 Foundation certification or documented participation in a structured incident response workflow.
- 3-5 years' experience collaborating with engineering, support, platform, or SRE teams in a 24/7 operational or incident driven environment.
- Prior experience in environments with rapid changes, live system dependencies, or peak traffic events (sports, e commerce, gaming, streaming, financial trading).
- A relevant Information Technology tertiary qualification.
- Knowledge of sports betting markets, including odds calculation, betting types and market trends.
- Previous experience in the online gaming or casino industry, with strong understanding of player behaviour and industry regulations.
- Familiarity with gambling regulations and compliance requirements in various jurisdictions.
- Experience with real time systems or high traffic platforms, ensuring performance and stability during peak events.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and effectively.
- Experience working collaboratively in cross functional teams, focusing on shared goals.
- Learning and development programmes to support your growth.
- Performance tool for meaningful feedback and career progression.
- Employee Assistance Programme for you and your family.
