Overview

The Master's Program is a 21 month, graduate degree program that begins the 3rd week of August and ends upon completion of the Dallas Baptist University minimum academic requirements and Sky Ranch program standards. Students earn a graduate degree, fully paid by Sky Ranch, in an accredited Ministry degree. The program provides food, meals and housing for the duration of the program.

Responsibilities
  • Teach Outdoor Education classes five days per week August through May.
  • Assist food service and retreat departments as needed, including dining hall setup, meeting room facilitation and guest arrival/departure support.
  • Support retreat coordinators with security, gate radio and urgent guest needs throughout the year.
  • Support fundraising and marketing events outside the weekly schedule (up to two weekends per year).
  • Participate in Monthly Community Group meetings.
  • Meet quarterly with the Fellowship Master's Manager.
  • Participate in local church seeking opportunities to serve as able.
  • During summer (mid May to mid August) rotate among Sky Ranch sites: Day Camp (DFW), Van, Cave Springs, or Ute Trail Summer Camp - Horn Creek. Optional additional assignments may be assigned based on needs and student interests.
  • Maintain D.B.U. academic standards and comply with Sky Ranch employee policies, state and federal laws, and all regulatory requirements.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Minimum one year or summer of related experience in camp ministry and/or Christian ministry.
  • Personal spiritual discipline that models proactive personal, spiritual and relational health.
  • Leadership skills necessary to influence people toward desired outcomes.
  • Knowledge of customer service principles, including needs assessment, quality standards and satisfaction evaluation.
  • Excellent communication, written and verbal, in English.
  • Ability to exercise independent thinking, maintain confidentiality and build mutual trust and cooperation among team members.
  • Travel to various geographic locations, including overnight stays and weekend stays.
  • Commitment to Christian principles, Sky Ranch's doctrinal statement, Vision, Mission and Values, and an active membership in a church aligned with the doctrinal statement.
  • Annual background check and child safety practices review as required by the American Camping Association.
Physical Demands
  • Routine use of up to 50 pounds of force frequently and occasionally for moving, lifting and carrying objects.
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring action of muscles, foot and hand eye coordination, including bending, reaching, crawling under desks, stooping, and climbing step stools or ladders.
Work Environment
  • Half time indoors in a normal office environment, half time outdoors with seasonal weather exposure at camp locations.
  • Must reside in on camp housing during the Master's program.
