The Special Investigating Unit (SIU), a Schedule 3A entity in terms of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), is an independent statutory body that was established in terms of the Special Investigating Units and Special Tribunals Act No. 74 of 1996. The primary mandate of the SIU is to investigate allegations of corruption, malpractice and maladministration in government departments, municipalities and State-Owned Entities, and to recover financial losses suffered by State institutions.

Introduction

The SIU has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Talent to join our dynamic team, who is passionate to fight against corruption and recovery financial losses suffered by the State. The SIU hereby invites suitably qualified and experienced candidates to apply for the following opportunity to serve the Unit.

Main Purpose: To manage the central registry and all SIU's records management system.

Key Performance Areas (Include but not limited to): Develop, implement, and maintain a SIU records management system in line with National Archive legislation. Manage and monitor the Central Registry for Head Office. Provide advice to stakeholders on SIU's records management system. Ensure that a proper records management system is implemented and maintained in the Head Office and Provincial Offices. Manage subordinates in the section.

Required Knowledge and Behavioural (include but not limited to): Sound knowledge of applicable legislation (i.e., Occupational Health and Safety Act, National Archives and Records Services Act, etc.). Knowledge of Supply Chain Management process. Knowledge of public sector environment. Sound knowledge of Records Management principles and best practices. Knowledge of project management principles. Ms Office Suite proficiency.

Minimum Qualification and Experience: National Diploma or B Degree qualification in Records Management, Archival Studies, Information Management (NQF 6/7) or equivalent. Project Management qualification would be advantageous. Five years' functional experience in records management, of which 2 years is at a supervisory/ management level.
