Manager: Data and Analytics (AI and Data Science)

As the Manager: Data Science/AI at Capitec, you will lead the bank's AI and advanced analytics initiatives, driving innovation and enabling data driven decision making across the organization. Your role will focus on defining and implementing a forward thinking AI strategy while fostering a high performing team of data scientists to deliver impactful AI/ML solutions aligned with business objectives.

You will be at the forefront of identifying AI driven opportunities, overseeing the development and deployment of cutting edge models, and ensuring alignment with ethical and compliance standards. By collaborating closely with stakeholders, you'll help position Capitec as a leader in leveraging AI for business innovation and growth. Additionally, you'll mentor your team to maintain high standards in AI/ML model quality and operational excellence, promoting a culture of continuous learning and data driven innovation.

• Over 5 years in AI/ML model development and deployment, including 2 years as a manager or team lead within an analytical team.
• Managing senior and executive level stakeholders and influencing decision making at these levels.
• Using AI frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch, with Python, SQL, and PySpark.
• Hands on experience integrating AI models into applications and services.
• Experience with big data frameworks such as Hadoop and Kafka.
• Experience with Github or Git.
• AWS experience.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

• Completed an Honors Degree or higher.
