High Level OverviewA boutique consulting firm is seeking an Associate level consultant to support a Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) workstream for a confidential client with multiple subsidiary businesses.
The assignment will focus on conducting a rapid diagnostic of third party risk practices across four subsidiary entities to identify gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities, while also supporting the core business in embedding defined TPRM standards through stakeholder engagement, change management, and vendor coordination.
The role is suited to a strong generalist with a structured consulting toolkit who can operate independently, engage effectively with senior stakeholders, and deliver high quality outputs within a focused 4-6 week engagement.
Role and ResponsibilitiesRole: Management Consultant (Associate Level) - Risk & Governance

Candidates Required: 1
- TPRM Diagnostic
- Conduct a structured rapid assessment of third party risk practices across four subsidiary entities, including review of policies, processes, governance structures, and risk oversight mechanisms.
- Engage key stakeholders across risk, procurement, legal, IT, and business functions to understand current operating practices and pain points.
- Identify material gaps, inconsistencies, operational risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Develop a concise diagnostic output summarising findings, key risks, and prioritised recommendations.
- TPRM Implementation Support
- Support the embedding of defined group level TPRM standards within the core business.
- Facilitate stakeholder alignment sessions and working meetings to clarify roles, responsibilities, and accountability.
- Develop practical implementation materials (e.g. process guides, templates, communications).
- Track implementation progress, flag risks or dependencies, and support escalation where required.
- Engagement Outputs & Decision Support
- Produce structured, decision ready materials synthesising diagnostic findings and implementation progress.
- Support senior stakeholder discussions, including preparation of presentations and documentation of key decisions and next steps.
- Operate as a core member of the consulting delivery team, contributing to problem structuring, work planning, and quality assurance of outputs.
Experience Required:
- 4-6 years' experience in consulting, risk, governance, or a related advisory environment.
- Experience conducting diagnostics, maturity assessments, or governance reviews preferred.
- Exposure to Third Party Risk Management (TPRM), supplier risk, procurement risk, or related control environments advantageous but not required.
Technical Requirements:
- Strong problem structuring capability and ability to translate ambiguity into clear workplans.
- Solid understanding of risk management principles and control environments.
- Experience supporting policy or framework implementation in corporate environments.
- Ability to synthesise qualitative and quantitative inputs into clear, actionable insights.
- High level of comfort working independently in PowerPoint and Excel to produce client ready outputs.

Working Arrangement: Location: Johannesburg; Travel: Minimal; Terms of agreement: Start Date: Immediately; Contracting Period: 4 6 weeks.
