Lubrication Technician

CAREER OPPORTUNITY (INTERNAL & EXTERNAL)

POSITION: LUBRICATION TECHNICIAN

SITE: BOKSBURG

DIVISION: CORRUSEAL CORRUGATED GAUTENG

REPORTING TO: ENGINEERING MANAGER

PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To ensure the smooth operation of machinery and prevent forced deterioration.

To maintain the performance of equipment exposed to high temperatures, moisture, and mechanical loads.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

EquipmentLubrication:Performinglubricationtasksaccordingtomanufacturers'specificationsaNdmanualstomaintainandimproveequipmentperformance.

Maintenance Activities: Conducting inspection and proactive maintenance activities for all lubricated mechanical systems.

Understanding of suitable lubricants and lubrication methods to increase safety, efficiency, and service life of production machines.

Understanding of different lubricants used in the Corrugated manufacturing Business.

Inventory Management: Coordinating inventory and routine ordering of lubrication products.

Performing field-level oil analysis and reporting any discrepancies or conditions that require corrective maintenance.

Ensure Machine downtime is kept to a minimum.

Always ensure the safe running of the plant during your shift.

Complete jobs according to priority and planned maintenance schedules.

Putting in practice healthy and safe activities in the factory.

Good safety and housekeeping.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

• Ability to converse well in English.
• Lubricants (different types of oils, greases, and their applications)
• Lubricating Systems
• Bearing types and applications
• Accurately and completely preparing and maintaining maintenance records and other paperwork
• Performing other duties as assigned by the specialist and other superiors.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, and clean-up work area as part of completing assigned tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• 2 - 5 years' experience as a Mechanical Fitter
• Previous Corrugating experience would be an added advantage
