Logistics Specialist Internship, Data Center Operations

Roles starting from March 2026 in South Africa.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is growing rapidly, and we are looking for Logistics Specialist Interns to join our Data Centre team. This hands on role will support our procurement and supply chain operations. Work prioritization, organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to react quickly are critical to being successful. As an intern, you will participate in our 6 month internship program in our Cape Town area Data Centres.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure that proper stock levels are maintained
  • Receive parts, maintain inventory, and check out parts
  • Loading and unloading shipments and transporting parts between different locations
  • Maintain precise records of all commodities going in and out of the company
  • Assist in daily scheduling of deliveries and pick ups to and from production locations
  • Unpack boxes and verify contents of incoming shipments
  • Manual tasks such as assembling, addressing, stamping and arranging for the shipment of merchandise and materials
  • Keep precise records of all commodities going in and out of the company
Physical Requirements
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 35 pounds unassisted; participate in group lifts for 36 pounds or more
  • Must be able to lift loads of up to 49 pounds and carry them for short distances
  • Continuously climb and descend stairs safely (applies to sites with stairs)
  • Reach and stretch to position equipment and fixtures while maintaining balance
  • Push or pull heavy objects into position
Basic Qualifications
  • Graduated from a Technical/Bachelors Degree within a relevant technical field such as Supply Chain, Logistics or similar
  • English language Proficiency, both written and verbal
Preferred Qualifications
  • Customer service experience
  • Ability to manage work and priorities through a ticketing system and coordination with Manager
Additional Information
  • Amazon internships are full time (40 hours/week) for 6 months, starting in March 2026. This position requires the intern to report to work onsite on a daily basis. Intern schedules are typically day schedules, Monday-Friday.
  • Paid internship / No relocation support
