Key Account Manager

IMCD South Africa is looking for an experienced Key Account Manager whowill play a crucial role in our ambition to become aleading supplier to the Pharma Industry in South Africa. The Key Account Managerwill be based at the IMCD SA's Head Office in Randburg, reporting into the BUManager: Pharma and will be servicing customers in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Sub Sahara Africa.

Person Profile: Targeted Skills & Capabilities
  • Have a tertiary science qualification, with between 4 - 6 years relevant sales experience.
  • Experience and knowledge of regulatory requirements in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of functional raw materials.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Be resilient, and able to multi-task and work under pressure.
  • Be solution-focused.
  • Have high independence and self-motivation.
  • Be a team player - supporting colleagues when needed and working as part of a team is essential to our success.
  • Being highly numerate - giving quotes, placing orders, preparing reports or working with spreadsheets. Being able to spot discrepancies, working with percentages and in general be comfortable working with numbers.
  • Be computer literate.
  • Experience in a multinational company on operational level will be an advantage.
  • Enjoy travel.
The position is responsible for:
  • Distribution of raw materials into the Pharmaceutical segments
  • Maintaining the existing customer base, as well as identifying new opportunities.
  • Development and expansion of product segments with strategic importance
  • Creation and submission of offers, including price responsibility.
  • Independent processing of customer inquiries including complaints.
  • Technical advice to customers on the development of formulations, including appropriate sampling.
  • Market analysis of customers, products, competitors and application markets
  • Report maintenance and documentation in the CRM system (Salesforce)
  • Responsibility for budget and requirements planning.
  • Collaboration and participation in trade fairs and customer seminars as sales promotion measures
  • Stock Management: Working closely with Principal Managers to ensure an optimal stock holding.
Expected Qualification/Education:

The ideal candidate will have a tertiary qualification in a science field. Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry will be an advantage.

Work Experience:

Ideally between 4 and 6 years commercial experience in the pharmaceutical industry.

Primary Job Location:

275 Oak Avenue, Ferndale, Randburg, South Africa. Will be servicing customers in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Sub Sahara Africa.

Travel:

Regional and into Sub Sahara Africa to visit Customers as well as international to attend supplier training.
