Junior Operations Assistant

Location: Benoni, Gauteng
Salary: R10,000 - R15,000 per month
Working Hours: 06:30 - 18:30 (Monday to Friday, overtime may apply)
Start Date: May 2026

A dynamic and fast-growing logistics and freight company is seeking a Junior Operations Assistant to join their operations team.

This role is critical in ensuring the smooth running of daily transport activities, with a strong focus on truck tracking, scheduling, coordination, and operational support.

The ideal candidate will be highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

• Monitor and track truck movements and deliveries in real time
• Coordinate daily transport schedules, dispatching, and bookings
• Liaise with drivers regarding routes, delays, breakdowns, and updates
• Ensure all deliveries are executed efficiently and according to plan
• Capture, update, and maintain accurate operational data and reports
• Assist with route planning and load allocation
• Communicate proactively with internal teams and clients on shipment status
• Handle operational queries and elevate issues where necessary
• Maintain and update tracking systems to ensure data accuracy
• Support general logistics administration and operational tasks

• Matric (Grade 12) - essential
• 1-2 years' experience in logistics, transport, or operations environment
• Exposure to trucking/logistics processes (advantageous)
• Strong administrative and coordination abilities
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Computer literate (Excel, tracking systems, or similar tools)
• Willingness to work long hours in a demanding operational environment
