Role Overview

The Internal Sales Executive plays a key role in driving revenue growth by managing existing client relationships and identifying new business opportunities. This position is responsible for supporting market expansion, achieving sales targets, and ensuring exceptional client engagement through effective sales process management and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities Client Relationship Management
  • Communicate with existing and prospective clients through outbound calls, emails, and follow-ups on leads.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through regular communication, meetings, and presentations.
  • Respond to customer enquiries and provide detailed product and service information.
  • Understand client needs, challenges, and preferences to deliver tailored solutions.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for client queries, ensuring prompt resolution and excellent service.
  • Identify sales opportunities, close deals, and consistently meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Stay informed on product updates, industry developments, and competitor offerings.
Business Development
  • Identify and pursue new sales opportunities within target markets.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential clients, trends, and competitive insights.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to grow and expand the client base.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams on campaigns, promotional materials, and sales collateral.
Sales Performance Tracking & Reporting
  • Create and maintain an accurate database of current and prospective clients.
  • Research, qualify, and convert new leads.
  • Upsell relevant products and services to existing clients.
  • Track sales activity and pipeline performance to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Prepare regular sales reports for management, highlighting progress, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Analyse sales data to identify trends and optimise performance.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with marketing, product, customer support, finance, and sales operations teams to ensure aligned sales efforts.
  • Provide client and market feedback to support product development, marketing strategies, and service enhancements.
  • Support efficient and seamless sales processes across departments.
Sales Process Management
  • Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting and lead generation to deal closure and post-sales support.
  • Qualify opportunities based on budget, timelines, and decision-making authority.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market dynamics, and best practices.
  • Participate in training, workshops, and professional development initiatives.
  • Actively seek feedback to support personal and professional growth.

Matric

Minimum of 2 years' sales experience in a related industry

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Team-oriented mindset

Excellent presentation and negotiation abilities

Effective time management and organisational skills
