An established leader in the industrial equipment sector is seeking a career-driven Internal Sales Consultant to join their technical team. This role is ideal for a proactive professional with a strong mechanical orientation and a background in the spray-painting or industrial coatings industry. The successful candidate will act as a technical advisor, managing the end-to-end sales process from initial enquiry to order fulfilment, while receiving extensive in-house and hands-on training in the company workshops to become a specialist in advanced finishing technology.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the full internal sales cycle, including handling technical enquiries, professional quoting, and comprehensive order processing.
- Provide consultative technical advice to contractors and plant managers, recommending specific spray tips, nozzle configurations, and pump pressures tailored to their needs.
- Troubleshoot customer technical issues related to finishing quality, equipment clogging, or overspray.
- Develop a deep understanding of airless, air-assisted, HVLP, and electrostatic spray technologies to offer optimised solutions.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within key sectors such as marine coatings, shipbuilding, and furniture manufacturing.
- Collaborate with the workshop and external sales teams to coordinate equipment demonstrations and prove product value to clients.
- Maintain accurate records of all customer interactions and sales activities within the company's CRM system.
- Ensure a commitment at all times to wearing prescribed safety equipment and PPE.
- Previous experience within the spray-painting equipment or industrial coatings industry is highly preferred.
- A strong mechanical orientation with the ability to understand and operate complex industrial machinery.
- Proven track record in a technical sales or internal sales environment.
- Residency in Edenvale, Bramley View, or surrounding suburbs with a valid driver's licence and reliable personal transport.
- Proficiency in Sage, Accpac (ERP).
- Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel for quoting and Outlook for correspondence.
- CRM software experience for managing customer relationships and sales pipelines.
- Extensive in-house and hands-on technical training in specialised workshops.
