HR Officer (JB6076)

Kempton Park, Gauteng - R700,000.00 to R800,000.00 annually - Permanent

A well-established organisation operating within the logistics and supply chain sector is looking for an experienced HR Officer to provide the full spectrum of on-site Human Resources support across multiple divisions. The role is responsible for managing HR Administration, Recruitment and Selection, Training and Development, Performance Management, Talent Management, Payroll Administration, and Employee Relations, including CCMA representation. The successful candidate will work closely with employees, management, and external service providers to ensure efficient HR operations, compliance with labour legislation, and the effective implementation of HR policies and procedures within a fast-paced operational environment.

Minimum Requirements
  • Matric (Grade 12)
  • B Degree or National Diploma in Human Resources
  • Minimum 5 years HR related experience
  • Full HR generalist experience, including Industrial Relations
  • HR partnering experience with internal stakeholders
Strong knowledge of

Duties and Responsibilities Recruitment and Selection
  • Manage the full recruitment and selection process
  • Control the pre-authorisation process and ensure accuracy
  • Advertise vacancies on recruitment platforms and internal systems
  • Compile and load questionnaires prior to advertising vacancies
  • Screen applicants for suitability
  • Prepare shortlists and present suitable candidates to management
  • Coordinate and schedule interviews with shortlisted candidates
  • Conduct interviews with relevant managers
  • Make recommendations regarding suitable candidates
  • Conduct criminal and credit checks on potential employees
  • Compile contracts of employment and starter packs
  • Ensure all employment documentation is completed and signed prior to onboarding
Payroll Administration
  • Capture all new employees on the SAGE 300 People system
  • Create new posts on the SAGE 300 People system
  • Ensure all employee information and documentation is uploaded accurately
  • Maintain the SAGE 300 People system professionally and accurately
Human Resources Administration
  • Complete Salary Advice Forms
  • Prepare promotion, increase, job title, and grade change letters
  • Prepare employment contracts for employees
  • Open and maintain employee files
  • Ensure confirmation of employment letters are completed
  • Provide HR reports as required
  • Assist with Employment Equity reporting
  • Monitor and manage fixed-term contracts
  • Attend to HR queries timeously
  • Assess exit interviews and highlight concerns to management
  • Facilitate staff transfers and related administration
  • Administer staff and study loans
  • Participate in Employment Equity and Training Committees
Retirement Fund Administration
  • Ensure all retirement fund documentation is filed timeously
  • Manage documentation relating to terminated employees and withdrawals
  • Maintain knowledge of retirement fund updates and changes
  • Provide monthly updates and reports to management
  • Complete UI 19 documentation for terminated employees
Medical Aid Administration
  • Ensure eligible employees are registered for Medical Aid
  • Distribute Medical Aid documentation to employees
  • Liaise with Payroll regarding new Medical Aid members
  • Escalate problem areas to management
Industrial Relations
  • Provide advisory support to staff and management on Industrial Relations matters
  • Attend disciplinary hearings, appeal hearings, and grievances
  • Provide guidance and support during disciplinary processes
  • Assist and advise on disciplinary charges
  • Ensure adherence to IR policies
  • Maintain knowledge of labour legislation, case law, and new developments
General
  • Communicate effectively with management and staff
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism within the HR department
  • Compile HR policies and procedures when required
  • Maintain a strong understanding of all HR policies and procedures
  • Assist with HR communications and internal HR initiatives as required
  • Escalate areas of concern or conflict to management
