Job Description
We're seeking a creative and disciplined HEAD PASTRY CHEF with the vision to elevate desserts into memorable dining experiences. The ideal candidate will bring refined technical skills, strong leadership ability, and a passion for innovation to one of the flagship restaurants in Parkhurst or Bryanston, Johannesburg.
The group operates three distinct concepts: a Greek restaurant, a premium steakhouse, and an Italian eatery - each reflecting a diverse culinary identity and high standards.
Experience & Qualifications- Diploma in Patisserie or equivalent professional certification
- 5-7+ years' pastry experience in fine dining or premium casual restaurants
- Proven track record in menu development, seasonal innovation, and high volume production
- 2-3+ years in a leadership role, managing pastry teams and training junior staff
- Strong knowledge of modern pastry techniques, plated desserts, and bakery production
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to balance creativity with operational discipline
- Lead pastry operations within the assigned restaurant
- Develop innovative dessert menus aligned with the outlet's concept
- Ensure consistent quality, presentation, and guest satisfaction across all pastry offerings
- Manage costing, procurement, and supplier relationships with a focus on premium sourcing
- Uphold hygiene, safety, and operational standards in line with company policies
- Mentor and train pastry staff, fostering a culture of creativity and excellence
