Director, Account Based Marketing (ABM) - Overview

The Director, Account Based Marketing (ABM) is a leadership role responsible for executing the ABM strategy to drive growth and engagement across regions and multiple countries. Through the application of ABM methodology, this role is accountable for driving a significant uplift in engagement with clients, retaining and expanding their engagement with the organization and ultimately generating long term sustainable growth across accounts and regions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define the ABM strategy and approach, working closely with relevant sales and marketing leads.
  • Translate customer needs into personalized ABM programs aligned to business goals and objectives.
  • Deliver against KPIs identified and aligned to business targets.
  • Identify, plan and implement the ABM program approach aligned to business priorities, goals and identified client needs, working closely with marketing teams.
  • Manage, define and support the best ABM approach and tactics for global campaigns and brand initiatives such as Tour de France.
  • Work across multiple areas with local and regional sales and marketing teams on the identification and execution of key accounts and cluster campaigns based on client insights.
  • Drive and demonstrate ABM adoption and performance in achieving business goals and drive pipeline results.
  • Communicate with key stakeholders and executives across regions and the wider business to demonstrate the impact of ABM with clients and sales.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring and management of a team of ABM professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement while focusing on operational excellence.

  • Program management skills with the ability to juggle multiple projects and consistently deliver results.
  • Full range of technical marketing skills including insight development, messaging development, campaign planning, activation and marketing performance management.
  • Strategic vision for account based marketing aligned with overall business goals.
  • Understanding of ABM principles and practices, focusing on delivering personalized experiences to target accounts.
  • Proficiency in using data and analytics to inform marketing strategies and measure the impact of ABM initiatives.
  • Leadership experience in managing teams, driving initiatives, and mentoring staff.
  • Budget management skills to allocate resources effectively and measure ROI.
  • Creative thinking to develop innovative ABM approaches that differentiate the organization from competitors.
  • Focus on achieving tangible business outcomes such as pipeline growth and revenue generation.
Required Education & Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in marketing, business, communications, or a related field.
  • Certifications in ABM, digital marketing, or relevant IT domains are an advantage.
Required Experience
  • Significant demonstrated experience in a technology and/or business environment, preferably a global organization.
  • Experience in marketing, marketing communications, or an online agency role.
  • Significant ABM experience - particularly with 1: few execution.
  • Experience managing and leading a marketing team, preferably an ABM team.
