Job Title: Head of Finance Responsibilities
  • 1. Management and review of all tasks related to the financial performance of the Schb Africa Group.
  • 2. Provide guidance and input for interpretation of Group's Financial results (Monthly, Quarterly, and annually).
  • 3. Develop and maintain currency hedging strategies. Manage risk on forward cover in line with Policy.
  • 4. Monitor Treasury and review adequacy of cash flow and predicting future trends.
  • 5. Review and evaluate cost-reduction opportunities.
  • 6. Manage and provide guidance for preparation of annual budgets.
  • 7. Manage and supervise audits of all group companies.
  • 8. Review of monthly management reports.
  • 9. Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met.
  • 10. Ensure compliance with all Audit requirements and lead in maintaining relationships with the Group's auditors.
  • 11. Ensure accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses.
  • 12. Ensure compliance with all aspects of Taxation (Vat, WHT, Company Tax Duties).
  • 13. Manage and review R&D incentives and efficient group tax structure.
  • 14. Manage transfer pricing policies.
  • 15. Manage, train, assist, mentor and develop all Financial staff.
  • 16. Provide financial advice and support to clients and colleagues to enable them to make sound business decisions.
  • 17. Liaise with customers and suppliers and resolve any issues or problems that may arise.
  • 18. Develop and maintain all internal controls are functioning as designed. Provide guidance for reviews and changes to ensure efficient and proper controls in all entities.
  • 19. Manage group insurance policies, declarations, and risks.
  • 20. Attend to general commercial, business requirements.
  • 21. Ensure financial records comply with IFRS and meet Group Accounting Policy requirements, ensuring accuracy and integrity of records.
  • 22. Income statement movement reviews and analyses on specific accounts as required.
  • 23. Ensure accounts payable/receivables are managed in accordance with company policy.
  • 24. Perform reviews over Treasury management and ensure all risks are adequately managed.
  • 25. Ensure adequate credit control is exercised in compliance with policy.
  • 26. Ensure group companies comply with the Companies Act in registered jurisdictions.
  • 27. Perform any other reasonable duties that may be requested by Executive Management.
Qualifications
  • 1. Matric.
  • 2. Member of SAICA Chartered Accountant or equivalent.
  • 3. 10 years' experience in a management role.
  • 4. Excellent MS Office computer skills.
  • 5. Experience with Syspro.
