Job Title: Associate Accountant

Job Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for an Associate Accountant to join our team in South Africa. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining general ledger accounts, preparing GL account reconciliations, debtor and creditor cash allocation, and month end reporting. You will also be responsible for month end journals and support accounting projects and year end activities.

This is a 6 month fixed term contract. Relocation/ISE/payroll transfer will not be supported.

Key Responsibilities
  • Handle accounting tasks of moderate complexity with some autonomy for decision making within delegated authority.
  • Identify and escalate inconsistencies or concerns beyond delegated authority to management for resolution.
  • Utilize basic accounting principles and procedures in daily tasks, ensuring compliance with regulations and industry standards.
  • Participate in the development, testing, and implementation of accounting systems.
  • Contribute to the department's continuous improvement objectives, measuring progress and addressing identified issues.

What Will Put You Forward
  • A completed BCom accounting degree is preferred.
  • Newly qualified CA(SA) or AGA(SA).
  • Completed SAICA articles.
  • MS Office Suite - Advanced Excel skills required.
  • Experience with an ERP System.
  • Knowledge of U.S. GAAP will be advantageous.
