The International Hotel School, Sunninghill Campus is looking for a Head of Department: Culinary Arts.

Thepurpose of the role is to manage the quality of provision, support and compliancewithin the Culinary Arts and Patisserie department.

• Minimumof a NQF 6 qualification in the hospitality area of specialization
• Scopedas a registered assessor for one of the institutional programme offerings
• 2years team management experience
• Minimum2 years lecturing experience
• Minimum5 years Culinary Arts experience as a chef
• Knowledge of academic compliancewithin the vocational educational sector
• Proficientin computer software, apps, social media, and technology in general
• Stock control and inventory systemproficiency
• Vocational, POE and practicalassessment implementation and management skills

• Managethe CA department provision and success
• Responsiblefor reporting on stock and inventory control
• Conductlectures and practical kitchen sessions
• Resolvestudent/sponsor queries, tracking, counselling and support
• Contributetowards curriculum improvement and development
• Applyassessment principles in line with the assessor code of conduct
• Inviteindustry guest speakers and arrange excursions
• Involvementin professional development activities for self and staff
• Researchinto industry trends
• Conductinduction and workplace foundation training
