About our client:

Our client is a highly successful and purpose-driven group with a global shared services hub based in Cape Town. They are far more than a travel company; they act as a vital platform connecting world-class hospitality with large-scale environmental impact across Africa's most iconic wilderness areas. The organization prides itself on a culture of continuous improvement and ethical behaviour, where the mission is to ensure that natural ecosystems and local communities thrive together. You will join a collaborative, friendly team that avoids rigid hierarchies and values individual contribution. While they "think big" and move fast to protect vulnerable landscapes, they are deeply employee-centric, offering unusually generous benefits and a genuine commitment to work/life balance. This is an opportunity to bring your expertise to a stable yet growing organization where profit meets a profound sense of purpose. They are looking for adaptable, long-term partners who are ready to help drive positive change at scale.

What you will be doing:
  • Establish and execute a company-wide data strategy aligned with core business goals.
  • Implement and enforce a robust governance framework for superior data quality, security, and compliance.
  • Oversee the architecture, infrastructure, and integration of all data systems for optimal performance and scalability.
  • Monitor and recommend the strategic adoption of emerging data technologies and practices.
  • Lead complex data analysis to uncover insights that inform high-level strategic decisions.
  • Develop and deliver high-impact dashboards and visualisations to facilitate decision-making across the organisation.
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing analytics team, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
  • Partner with all business units (e.g., Sales, Marketing, Product) to integrate data and analytics into core business processes.
What our client is looking for:
  • 8+ years in BI, with at least 4 years in a leadership role, including a proven track record of mentoring and building high-performing teams.
  • Strong proficiency in data platforms and tools, specifically including AWS, MS SQL Server, SSIS, T-SQL, Power BI, Looker, BigQuery, and Redshift.
  • Experience in creating and executing comprehensive data strategies for an organisation.
  • Ability to oversee all facets of data management, including governance, quality, integration, storage, security, and privacy.
  • Exceptional skills in interpreting, analysing, and visualising complex data to identify actionable trends and simplifying findings for various audiences.
  • Demonstrated capacity to quickly understand diverse business models and directly align data initiatives with strategic business objectives.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration across executive, technical, and functional teams.
  • Strong abilities in project planning, prioritisation, resource coordination, and ensuring the successful delivery of data-related projects.
