Grow Great - Warehouse Assistant

Grow Great is recruiting for an experienced Warehouse Assistant to join the Operations Team based in Midrand.

• Grade 12 / Matric certificate.
• A valid driver's licence would be an advantage, since deliveries of inventory are required.
• Previous warehouse, stores, logistics, or stock control experience (3-5 years preferred)
• Knowledge of inventory and stock management processes, and computer literacy
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Knowledge of workplace health and safety procedures
• Thrives in a collaborative, fast paced environment

Order picking accuracy

• Pick correct items and correct quantity as per packing request and stock instructions received, and in line with the deadlines set by the Logistics Officers (Flourish & Grow Great Champions programmes)
• Minimise picking errors, and where differences are identified, ensure that they are reported timeously to the Warehouse Supervisor

Inventory Control & Stock Management

• When inventory is received, ensure that all inventory is accurately counted and the Goods Receipt Note (GRN) is signed. Inspect goods for damage, shortages, or discrepancies and ensure that issues are recorded on the GRN and reported to the Warehouse Supervisor.
• Ensure that all items received are accurately recorded on the inventory management system. Assist with the receiving and placing of inventory on the correct warehouse racks.
• Ensure that the First In First Out (FIFO) principles are consistently applied to avoid and reduce inventory redundancy
• Monitor inventory levels and report low inventory or potential shortages
• Assist with quarterly and monthly ad hoc inventory counts

Delivery & Distribution

• Assist with loading inventory for delivery to coaches, host and trainers or internal departments.
• Deliver inventory items to designated locations as required.
• Ensure delivery documentation is completed and signed where applicable.
• Maintain accountability for items during transportation and ensure safe handling of inventory.

Health, Safety & Compliance

• Assist in arranging and organising inventory to optimise warehouse space.
• Ensure compliance with organisational safety standards in the warehouse
• Ensure the correct use of PPE (aprons & masks) and the safe handling procedures in the warehouse

Teamwork and Communication

• Cooperate with the Warehouse Supervisor and other warehouse team members
• Follow instructions accurately and promptly, and communicate all delays, shortages and challenges clearly
• Build collaborative relationships with the Logistics officers and the Flourish and GGC teams
• Fulfil team management responsibilities when the Warehouse Supervisor is not available
• Accurate receiving, packing, picking, and dispatching of stock.
• Maintaining correct inventory records and stock levels.
• Ensuring goods are stored safely and neatly in designated areas.
• Assisting with loading, offloading, and delivery of inventory.
• Completing all warehouse documentation accurately and on time.
• Maintaining cleanliness, organisation, and safety standards in the warehouse.
• Supporting timely deliveries and efficient warehouse operations.
