Job Description

Meridian Wine Merchants is offering Sales and Marketing Graduate Internship opportunity to young, unemployed and graduates who wants to grow their practical experience (12-month duration) in the workplace. This opportunity is only open to Higher Education graduates in the Cape Town region.

Requirements:
  • Under the age of 28 years.
  • University Degree/Diploma in Data Science/Marketing/Sales

Duration of program: 12 months (Jul 2025)

Responsibilities:
  • Perform physical Stock Counts: understanding all our products as well as the latest vintages of each wine. Discrepancies must be flagged and any differences between the system and physical count (overstock, understock, or missing items).
  • Monitor shelf levels: They check that products are adequately stocked and re-order or request replenishment as needed.
  • Avoid overstocks: By maintaining accurate stock levels, help prevent excess inventory in the redistributors warehouse.
  • Communicate with Sales consultants: report inventory issues, discrepancies, or product damage to management or the relevant department.
  • Assist during official Stocktakes: as per the required timelines.
  • Ensure vintage compliance: as per the current vintage management process.
  • Stock positioning: as per store layout requirements set by the consultant/customer where applicable.
  • Highlight Fast- or Slow-Moving Items - as per reporting set.
