Job Description
FT Contract - Board Prosecutor - Midrand Johannesburg - South Africa 
- Preparation of the charge sheets where there is evidence that a sheriff has acted in contravention of the Code of Conduct and/or the Act.
- Act as evidence leader in disciplinary matters and internal appeal.
- Prepare applications for suspension of sheriffs, drafting criminal affidavits on behalf of SABFS, removal from office of sheriffs, charge letters and criminal referral.
- Oversee the timely scheduling of disciplinary enquiries and provide guidance and support to the legal and complaints department.
- Oversee litigation matters and related tasks.
- Analyse complaints, inspections and audit reports to determine whether sufficient evidence exists to institute disciplinary proceedings or to decline a matter.
- Attend to general administrative record keeping and liaise with other departments.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the Sheriffs Act, Regulations, Code of Conduct and supporting legislation applicable to the sheriffs profession.
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, and demonstrate knowledge.
- Computer literacy and report writing.
- Ability to prepare complex applications for suspension and removal.
- Relevant LLB Degree.
- Admitted Attorney of the High Court.
- Minimum 7 to 10 years experience as a prosecutor or in the legal field where leading of evidence was a strong component of the job.
- Strong evidence and litigation experience and member of relevant legal bodies.
- Code 8 driver's license.
