Facilities Operations Manager
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Facilities Operations Manager to join a high-performing workplace and facilities operations environment based in Sandton, Gauteng.
This role is ideal for a hands-on, commercially minded facilities leader who can operate at both a strategic and operational level, ensuring a seamless, high-quality workplace experience for employees, guests, vendors, and key stakeholders.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading facilities operations across a professional corporate environment, supporting service excellence, vendor performance, operational efficiency, planned maintenance, soft services, reporting, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities- Managing day-to-day facilities and workplace operations in a corporate environment.
- Leading both vendor partners and internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Maintaining a hands on approach while also providing strategic operational leadership.
- Using data to assess, improve, control, and report on operational performance.
- Identifying efficiencies and improvements across workplace operations.
- Building strong relationships with cross functional teams, service providers, and senior stakeholders.
- Managing multiple projects simultaneously and adapting quickly to shifting priorities.
- Overseeing fabric maintenance, soft services, repairs, maintenance projects, and planned preventive maintenance programmes.
- Delegating responsibilities to project teams and mentoring team members to achieve project milestones.
- Anticipating, identifying, and escalating operational or project related risks.
- Preparing management reports, dashboards, and operational insights to support informed decision making.
- Proven experience in facilities management, workplace operations, property operations, or a similar corporate facilities leadership role.
- Experience supporting sub tenant retailers would be beneficial.
- Experience building management reports or dashboards.
- Flexibility and resilience in a fast paced, changing operational environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong customer, stakeholder, and supplier relationship management skills.
- A passion for environmental sustainability and its application within property and facilities management would be advantageous.
You should be comfortable working in a hands on onsite role, while also being able to step back, analyse operational performance, and contribute to strategic improvements that enhance the workplace experience.
