POSITION OVERVIEWThe Entrepreneurial Leadership Faculty plays a critical role in advancing ALA's mission to develop the next generation of ethical, entrepreneurial African leaders. EL Faculty design and deliver transformative learning experiences that cultivate ethical decision-making, entrepreneurial problem-solving, and leadership mindsets in students aged 16-19.
Faculty members serve as teachers, coaches, mentors, and contributors to the broader learning community. Through intentional practice, experiential learning, and student-centered instruction, they empower young leaders to identify opportunities, build impactful ventures, and contribute meaningfully to ALA's culture and community.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Teaching & Learning Delivery- Teach a minimum of two EL Year One classes and deliver engaging, rigorous lessons that develop leadership, entrepreneurial, and problem-solving skills.
- Coach 3-4 Student Enterprise teams through the entrepreneurial process, guiding them in ideation, execution, financial sustainability, and ethical leadership practice.
- Collaborate with colleagues to design, refine, and improve curriculum, learning experiences, assessments, and materials across the two-year EL program.
- Work with peers across departments to advance shared pedagogical vision, strengthen school culture, and contribute to institutional improvement initiatives.
You may serve as a faculty advisor for up to 12 students as they navigate the transformative journey of academic, personal, and social growth.
In this role, you will be expected to:
- Promote the general progress and well-being of all students, but particularly those within the designated Advisory Group.
- Liaise with the Student Success Team and Heads of Year to ensure the implementation of the school's student support system.
- Evaluate and monitor the progress of students and keep up-to-date student records as may be required.
- Contribute to the preparation of individual education plans, progress files, and other reports.
- Alert the appropriate staff to problems experienced by students and make recommendations as to how these may be resolved.
- Apply the school's behaviour management and safeguarding systems effectively and accurately.
- Communicate effectively with the parents of students as appropriate.
- Where appropriate, communicate and cooperate with persons or bodies outside the school.
- Follow agreed policies for communications in the school.
- Take part in community activities, including, but not limited to, parents' conferences, open days, and parental workshops.
- Ensure continual professional development through the identification and implementation of your own Personal Development Plan
- Take part in the school's staff development programme by participating in arrangements for further training and professional development.
- Continue your own professional development in the relevant areas, including subject knowledge, teaching methods, and curriculum-based training provided by examination boards.
- Engage actively in the performance management review process.
- Contribute to the process of monitoring and evaluation of the curriculum area/department in line with agreed school procedures, including evaluation against quality standards and performance criteria.
- To seek/implement modification and improvement where required.
- A bachelor's degree or master's Degree related to Entrepreneurship, Education, Project Management, and Design Thinking.

Technical competencies:
- Experience in youth development, education, entrepreneurship, leadership development, or venture-building
- Proven experience designing and delivering programs, curricula, or experiential learning
- Experience in startups, businesses, or nonprofit organizations
- Experience in technology OR finance
- Strong understanding of Design Thinking and experiential learning methodology
- Residential program experience or previous work with boarding schools
