A client of ours within the Engineering Insurance sector is looking for an experienced Engineering Underwriter to join their team

Location

Eastrand, Johannesburg

Requirements
  • A BSC in Civil Engineering
  • 5 years of experience working within an Insurer or a Underwriting Manager
  • Understanding of engineering risks, construction contracts, building codes, and machinery.
  • Familiarity with or willingness to study for FAIS (Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services) qualifications and Regulatory Exams (RE1/RE5)
Responsibilities
  • Assessing risks for new and renewal business in engineering insurance
  • Setting terms and conditions for policies based on technical evaluations
  • Building and maintaining relationships with brokers and clients
  • Developing and analyzing engineering risk portfolios
