Demi Chef - Fine Dining Restaurant

Location: Sandton

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Demi Chef to join a prestigious fine dining restaurant in Sandton. This is an excellent opportunity for a developing culinary professional looking to grow within a high performance kitchen environment.

Minimum Requirements
  • 1-3 years' experience in a professional, high-volume kitchen.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment while maintaining a calm and organized approach.
  • Good organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Solid understanding of health, safety, and food hygiene standards.
  • Creative mindset with a passion for culinary excellence.
  • Willingness to work long hours, weekends, and shifts as required.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation and cooking of dishes according to the restaurant's fine dining standards.
  • Support the Chef de Partie and senior chefs in daily kitchen operations.
  • Ensure all ingredients are prepped, portioned, and stored correctly.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workstation at all times.
  • Follow recipes and plating guidelines to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Assist with stock rotation, inventory checks, and basic ordering processes.
  • Monitor food quality and report any issues to senior chefs.
  • Adhere strictly to health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
  • Assist during service to ensure timely and efficient dish execution.
  • Continuously learn and develop culinary skills under guidance from senior team members.
