Cost Analyst
Job Description
To support the Finance Department by maintaining accurate costing information, performing weekly and monthly cost-related processes, preparing financial reports, validating supplier and customer pricing, and assisting in regulatory and audit compliance through accurate and timely data preparation.
Weekly Sales and Costing Checks- Obtain weekly sales data from Syspro and/or Sales Teams.
- Compare customer selling prices against Hesto price lists to identify variances.
- Complete inventory period-end processes before cost implosion.
- Run cost implosion from Inventory to Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Receive quotations and raise requisitions for the Finance Department.
- Follow up for approvals as per Syspro workflow.
- Request monthly fuel expenditure from relevant stakeholders.
- Capture and analyse fuel data per vehicle.
- Request APDP declarations from local suppliers.
- Capture APDP data into IRS.
- Receive parts list from customers and run BOMs.
- Re calculate originating and non originating material values.
- Confirm updated supplier prices reflected in Syspro after uploads.
- Validate that all pricing uses the correct supplier currency.
- Obtain monthly sales data per warehouse.
- Obtain monthly production volumes by model.
- Verify that production volumes balance with daily sales updates.
- Obtain audit sample selections and prepare simplified, user friendly working documents.
- Submit clean schedules and supporting evidence to auditors.
- Obtain monthly sales reports.
- National Diploma (Essential)
- Degree in Cost & Management Accounting, Finance, Accounting, or related field (advantageous)
- 1-3 years' experience in costing, finance, or a manufacturing environment. (Essential)
- Experience using Syspro or similar ERP system. (Advantageous)
- Exposure to APDP, SADC/EU declarations, or BOM costing is an added advantage
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data analysis). (Essential)
- Understanding of Bills of Materials, standard costing, and variance analysis. (Essential)
- Ability to prepare journals and accurate financial reconciliations. (Essential)
- Knowledge of APDP and customs declarations. (Essential)
