Volunteer Overview

Do you believe that everyone deserves a safe, secure, and settled home? If yes, we have the volunteering opportunity for you! Community Connectors is a community based, volunteer led support service designed to help end homelessness and make a real difference to the lives of those who need it most. Our volunteers provide emotional and practical support to help individuals move to safe housing, set up utilities, secure furniture, and connect to support networks.

Volunteer Responsibilities
  • Arrange to meet the person you're paired with in a public space, or speak to them on the phone, for about an hour a week for up to six months.
  • Participate in our training and ongoing support.
  • Complete a DBS check before being paired with someone to support.
Areas Covered

Newham, Havering, Redbridge, Barking and Dagenham, Hackney, Islington, Camden, Tower Hamlets, City of London, Haringey, Barnet, Enfield or Waltham Forest

Requirements
  • Volunteers aged 18 or over.
  • Availability: flexible or on going; morning, afternoon or evening; Monday to Saturday (flexibility).
  • Hours per session: between 1 and 80 hours.
  • Commitment: up to six months.

We will provide training and ongoing support to help you feel confident in your role.
