Commis Chef
Job Description
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Commis Chef to join the kitchen team at Walter Peak - Colonel's Homestead. As Commis Chef, you'll be a valued junior member of our kitchen crew, learning on the job and supporting the team to deliver high-quality, beautifully presented food. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow your skills in a fast-paced, supportive environment - all while being part of something pretty special.
What you'll be doing:You'll assist in the day-to-day running of the kitchen, following procedures for food prep, hygiene, stock control, and cleanliness. You'll help prepare and present meals to a high standard, keeping waste to a minimum and ensuring that all equipment is clean and well-maintained. You'll also play your part in ensuring a smooth handover between shifts and upholding our high standards of food safety and team collaboration.
What you'll bring:We're after someone with a great attitude, a willingness to learn, and ideally some previous kitchen experience in a high-volume or hospitality environment. A relevant culinary qualification or current study towards one is a bonus. You'll need to be reliable, hardworking, and keen to be part of a close-knit team delivering memorable experiences for our guests.
