Our specialised sourcing, training, and support service for families of neurodivergent children and adults Job DescriptionWe are seeking a dedicated classroom facilitator for a sociable 8-year-old boy who loves animals, cooking, gardening, spending time outdoors, reading, and drawing. The facilitator would provide support to the child for the full duration of the academic school day and should ideally be passionate about supporting neurodiverse children and find genuine job satisfaction in making a difference in their lives. A strong enthusiasm for tutoring and encouraging confidence and independence in all subjects, but especially Mathematics, is essential. The facilitator should be proactive, able to take initiative, and be skilled at problem-solving, with a talent for unpacking and explaining instructions, chunking tasks, and empowering independence.
Main Purpose of the Job
To provide consistent, secure, and long term support to a learner with unique needs, guiding him academically and emotionally throughout the school day. Collaboration and communication with his parents, teachers, and the wider multidisciplinary team are of utmost importance.
Job Objectives
- Build a trusting relationship with the learner, teacher and parents.
- Attend school with him to provide scaffolding and support across all subjects.
- Act as a communication bridge between teachers, parents, and the multidisciplinary team.
- Assist with breaking down tasks, chunking information, and implementing movement/sensory breaks when needed.
- Encourage independence and confidence, especially in Mathematics.
- Support executive functioning skills such as planning, organising, problem-solving, and asking for help.
- Pre-empt possible triggers to reduce uncertainty and anxiety.
- Create and design visual resources when needed.
- Participate in collaborative meetings with teachers.
General Requirements
- Fluent in English - Essential.
- Driver's license and own reliable car - Essential.
- Willingness to maintain consistent attendance and punctuality to ensure dependable support for the learner. Working hours and deliverables outlined in the contract must be respected and adhered to at all times - Essential.
Job Related Experience
- Previous experience in a school environment/facilitating role - Desirable.
- Previous experience in a tutoring role for primary school subjects - Desirable.
- Previous experience working with or supporting ADHD children - Essential.

- Strong executive functioning and tutoring skills in all primary school subjects, including Mathematics - Essential.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with him and parents - Essential.
- Organisational skills, i.e., ability to implement structure, strong time management - Essential.

Job Related Knowledge
- Familiarity and knowledge of ADHD - Essential.
- Familiarity with a low arousal, child-led, neuro-affirming approach - Essential.
