• Assist the Lead Civil and Structural Engineer (LE) and Departmental Manager in various design and administrative duties
  
• Liaise with other engineering disciplines and gather information required for the structural designs
  
• Assist with the preparation of Design criteria and specifications
  
• Compile man hour estimates in accordance with the Clients enquiry
  
• Compile the relevant portions of the contract schedule/assist to evaluate the contract schedule in collaboration with the Project Scheduler
  
• Attend and participate in technical and /or contract related meetings and take minutes of meeting as and when required
  
• During the course of the contract assist with monitoring the contract schedule and budget and make recommendations for appropriate action as and when required
  
• As and when required, work with specialist consultants. This also involves managing their contracts
  
• Do the Civil and Structural engineering portion of Conceptual and Basic Engineering packages as per the Client RFQ
  
• Assist with the technical portions of enquiry documents and tenderers (e.g. earthworks, piling, concrete and building works and structural steel). This will include liaising with a Quantity
  
• Surveyor to compile the relevant Bill of Quantities as well as scope of work documents
  
• Assist with technical adjudication of submitted enquiries
  
• Provide technical assistance in the placement of order (s) with successful companies
  
• Design the Civil and Structural works in accordance with the requirements of the client
  
• Assist with review, approval and issue of construction drawings
  
• Compile end of job documentation as per the Clients requirements
  
• Provide technical assistance to site personnel as and when required
  
• Keep up to date with technological developments and participate in the necessary CPD programmes to obtain professional registration status.
  

• Engineering) degree and preferably be a Registered Professional Engineer with Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA)
  
• A minimum of 5 years' experience in the industrial engineering environment and petro-chemical plants with the emphasis on reinforced concrete and structural steel engineering is essential.
