Blended Learning Training Facilitator 2026

Huddle

Job Description

Overview

At Huddle, our mission is to help address South Africa's education crisis by making rigorous and joyful teaching & learning accessible to all through scalable blended classrooms.

As the Blended Learning Training Facilitator, you will work closely with the Blended Learning Training Lead to design, facilitate, and develop teacher training programmes both online and in-person with partner school teachers.

Your primary focus will be to drive measurable improvements in classroom practice through high-quality training, targeted observations, and actionable feedback. This role requires strong instructional judgment, the ability to coach teachers effectively, and a relentless focus on implementation, not just delivery.

Joining a young, innovative organisation means the type of work may change, but what will remain constant is our dedication to serving learners and improving education.

To give you a glimpse into the role before applying, please consider the following questions:

  • Do you enjoy working in environments where you are expected to drive real change in classroom practice, not just deliver training?
  • Can you observe a lesson, identify what is not working, and give clear, actionable feedback that leads to immediate improvement?
  • Are you comfortable holding teachers to high standards, even when it requires direct, sometimes uncomfortable conversations?
  • Do you enjoy breaking down complex teaching techniques into simple, practical steps that teachers can implement the next day?
  • Can you balance support and accountability - building strong relationships while still consistently pushing for improvement?
  • Are you motivated by measurable impact (e.g. learner engagement, workbook completion, lesson pace), not just positive feedback from teachers?
  • Can you adapt quickly in unpredictable environments (large classes, limited resources, tech challenges) and still maintain high standards of delivery?
  • Do you take ownership when things don't work - and actively problem-solve instead of waiting for direction?
  • Are you energised by working in high-need school contexts, where the work is demanding, and often requires resilience?
  • Are you ready to be part of a team that prioritises excellence, consistency, and continuous improvement?

If you said yes to all of the above then please consider applying to Huddle for this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Relationship Development: Build strong, trust-based relationships with teachers and school leaders that enable honest conversations, continuous improvement, and accountability in classroom practice.
  • New School Onboarding: Support the onboarding of new schools by clearly introducing Huddle's model, setting expectations, and ensuring teachers are equipped to begin implementation effectively from the start.
  • Implementation Support: Support partner schools to ensure the consistent and effective implementation of Huddle's blended learning model, including the use of lesson resources, technology, and data tools.
  • Teacher Training Programme Development: Collaborate with the Blended Learning Training Lead to design training programmes that are practical, relevant, and directly transferable to classroom practice.
  • Facilitation: Facilitate high-quality training sessions (online and in-person) that result in clear teacher understanding and immediate application of techniques in the classroom.
  • Observation and Feedback: Conduct classroom observations using the Huddle (CVT) tool to identify key gaps in teaching practice and provide clear, actionable feedback that leads to immediate and sustained improvement.
  • Implementation & Follow-Through: Track teacher progress and follow up to ensure that training translates into consistent classroom implementation. Take ownership of gaps and actively support teachers to improve.
  • Data Analysis: Analyse data and feedback from training sessions to identify areas for improvement and adjust training agendas based on the specific needs of teachers and schools.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams (Blended Learning Training Lead, School Success Manager, and others) to ensure alignment and consistency in training, communication, and school support.
  • Communication: Communicate clearly and proactively with teachers and internal teams to ensure alignment, clarity of expectations, and effective adoption of Huddle's programme.
  • Project Management: Manage time, priorities, and deliverables effectively to ensure high-quality and timely execution of training, observations, and school support. Proactively identify challenges and implement solutions.
  • Professional Growth & Learning: Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning by staying informed on best practices in teaching, coaching, and training, and applying these to improve delivery and impact.
Qualifications
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Education, Training and Development, or related field. A relevant postgraduate qualification or certificate in Training and Development would be advantageous.

    • Previous experience in facilitating teacher training sessions and developing training programmes, preferably in the education sector.
    • Coaching background or experience in providing feedback and support to educators is highly desirable.
  • Skills:
    • Fluency in English and working proficiency in isiXhosa is required. Proficiency in another Nguni language (e.g. isiZulu) may be considered due to linguistic similarities.
    • Strong relationship development skills, with the ability to effectively engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
    • Excellent organisational and time management abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
    • Data-oriented mindset, with the ability to analyse information and make data-driven decisions to improve training outcomes.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts in a clear and engaging manner.
    • Proactive and adaptable approach to problem-solving and decision-making in a dynamic environment.
    • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
    • Strong project management skills, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
    • A proactive and solution-oriented mindset, with a demonstrated ability to take initiative and drive results.
    • Must be willing to travel to partner schools as needed using your own transport.
  • Additional Requirements:
    • Demonstrated passion for education and working collaboratively with colleagues and external stakeholders.
    • Strong commitment to upholding ethical standards and maintaining confidentiality.
    • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and business needs.
    • Willingness to stay updated on industry trends and best practices in training and development.
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.
Character Traits We're Looking For
  • Instructionally obsessed. Deeply interested in teaching and learning, with a strong drive to improve classroom practice and learner outcomes. This work feels meaningful and worth doing well.
  • High ownership, high initiative. Proactive, solution-oriented, and able to create clarity in ambiguity. Takes responsibility when things don't work and actively drives solutions.
  • Resilient and adaptable. Thrives in fast-paced, unpredictable environments and maintains high standards even when facing challenges or resistance.
  • Humble and coachable. Actively seeks feedback, reflects on practice, and continuously works to improve.
  • Direct and accountable. Comfortable holding others to high standards and having honest, sometimes uncomfortable conversations in service of improvement.
  • Team-oriented. Collaborates effectively, contributes to team success, and supports others in improving their practice.
  • Relentless about excellence. Sets a high bar for quality, follows through, and is focused on achieving meaningful results, not just completing tasks.
