CORE PURPOSE OF JOB
  • To teach in the field of Educational Psychology at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
  • To be able to develop and lead Educational Psychology as a niche area in the Faculty.
  • To publish and lead research in the field of Educational Psychology.
  • To engage in the assessment of School-Based Learning and Training.
  • To contribute to Faculty administration at an undergraduate to a postgraduate level.
  • To supervise postgraduate students in the field of Educational Psychology.
  • To participate in community engagement.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
  • Facilitate teaching and learning in the field of Educational Psychology at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
  • Conduct, publish and promote research in the field of Educational Psychology.
  • Participate in research collaboration that will lead to publications and conference presentations in the field of Educational Psychology.
  • Engage in postgraduate supervision in Educational Psychology.
  • Participate in academic and community engagement.
  • Participate in Faculty Administration.
  • To engage in the assessment of School-Based Learning and Teaching
CORE COMPETENCIES
  • Facilitate teaching, learning, research and engagement in the field of Educational Psychology from an undergraduate to a postgraduate level.
  • A sound knowledge of assessment and evaluation.
  • Be able to lead curriculum development in the field of Educational Psychology as a niche area.
  • Sound understanding and use of technology in teaching and learning.
  • Conduct and develop scholarly work with an increasing focus on Africanization and decolonization in the field of Educational Psychology.
  • Ability to adapt teaching and curriculum development to accommodate a diversity of experiences
  • Be able to manage and lead Educational Psychology research and supervision in Postgraduate Programs.
REQUIREMENTS
  • A relevant PhD degree in the field of Educational Psychology is required.
  • An additional professional psychology qualification will be an added advantage.
  • Qualification and experiences must reflect a sound knowledge of the field of Educational Psychology.
  • Experience (5-10 years) in the teaching of teaching Educational Psychology at a university level.
  • A proven record of:
    • Experience in supervising M&D students to completion.
    • Research productivity in and around the field of Educational Psychology.
  • A sound disciplinary, and content knowledge in Educational Psychology
