Job Description

George Area - Western Cape: This company produces 20 kinds of fresh culinary herbs, on 35 ha, on open fields, under shade nets and in greenhouses, to wholesalers in RSA and export to Switzerland.

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in agriculture with major in Horticulture or Agronomy
  • At least 2 years practical farm experience in horticultural or agronomic production and staff supervision
  • Integrity, self-motivated, attention to detail, fluent in English and Afrikaans, proficient with Excel
  • Be hands on and participate in all farm activities as is necessary on a compact, intense farm
Responsibilities
  • Co-ordinate staff in consultation with management team for land preparation, sowing, fertilization, irrigation
  • Management and weed control
  • Record keeping of production
  • Irrigation infrastructure maintenance
  • Arrange for vehicle and farm equipment maintenance and keep records
