Job Summary To provide specialist advice and support in the development and implementation of quantitative analytics, models and risk management. To enable the provision of ESG & Climate Risk Measurement solutions across the group. Job Description Job Description Develop models in-house by ensuring model build data are of sufficient quality, completing statistical data analysis and producing detailed model build documentation. Develop various forecasting models to evaluate various impacts on the group. Develop Physical and Transition Risk, and other climate related models to evaluate the impact on the group (e.g., credit, operational, insurance). Work with climate related and bank related datasets - sourcing, analysing, and processing. Understand and apply geocoding and related geo-analysis. Use the latest techniques, coding languages and packages to develop solutions. Stay abreast of climate related topics, modelling techniques and discussions. Work with stakeholders across the bank to develop tailored solutions and prototypes in relation to climate related analytics. Develop theoretical understanding and practical application of model development methodology through model building and application experience. Ensure full governance processes for modelling are complied with from model inception and build through to validation. Ensure successful implementation of models.Stakeholder management would be required, that mainly includes: Actively engage stakeholders to be fully engaged in the process and delivery. Generate appropriate challenge on model builds by discussing model build detail and ideas. Manage key stakeholders across the business by ensuring their issues, objectives and priorities are reflected in the agreed solutions. Develop and maintain relationships with relevant business units by understanding the business units' requirements and obtaining feedback. Education and Experience requirements A relevant Degree in a numerate field, e.g., Maths, Stats, Engineering, Actuarial Science, etc. 1-5 years of related experience (e.g., credit risk models). Coding abilities in Python will be preferred. Studying toward a professional qualification (e.g., Fellow of the Actuarial Society of SA) will be preferred. Climate risk related courses, certifications or education will be advantageous.
