Job Description

Red Ember Recruitment is seeking, on behalf of our client based in Cape Town, a dedicated and experienced Wildlife Supervisor.

The successful candidate will report to the Inspectorate Manager and will be responsible for leading and integrating the Wildlife team to ensure daily operations align with organizational policies, animal welfare legislation, and best practice standards.

This role requires a confident leader who upholds the highest standards of animal care while maintaining operational efficiency and ethical compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Wildlife team to ensure smooth daily operations
  • Ensure compliance with relevant animal welfare legislation and internal regulations
  • Uphold the highest standards of animal care and welfare
  • Oversee administrative processes, reporting, and record management
  • Interpret and implement policies effectively
  • Delegate tasks, prioritize workflow, and manage team performance
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with stakeholders and the public
  • Handle high-pressure situations with sound judgment and professionalism
  • Work extended and irregular hours, including weekends and public holidays when required
Requirements
  • National Senior Certificate or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years supervisory or management experience
  • Relevant experience or qualification in wildlife conservation
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong administrative, report writing, and record management skills
  • High ethical standards and discretion with sensitive information
  • Strong conflict management and problem-solving ability
  • Professional demeanor and presentability
  • Emotionally stable and physically fit
  • Outgoing, friendly, yet authoritative personality
