Job Description

DUTIES
  • Accountable for the operational efficiency of all paint application processes in the plant
  • Pre-treat, clean, mask, prime and powder coat a variety of parts as needed
  • Perform required quality checks including 1st piece, in-process and final inspections
  • Load parts correctly onto line for maximum line capacity
  • Change hanging patterns as needed
  • Apply powder to parts on conveyor line, using electrostatic paint gun
  • Hanging colour tags for paint colour changes
  • Putting plugs/tape onto parts
  • Use measuring devices to ensure highest level of quality
  • Sanding and/or correcting parts as needed
  • Department housekeeping
  • Clean and maintain equipment
  • Troubleshoot as needed
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Propose productivity and quality improvements
  • Minimize paint/powder usage
  • Reduce change-over times between products and paint colours
  • Comply with the production schedule
REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimum Grade12 or equivalent required
  • Technical certifications preferred
  • Minimum 4-5 years wet spray experience
  • Knowledge of powder coat process
  • Powder coating and mixing experience required
  • 3+ years of experience with painting on a conveyor system line
  • 3+ years of experience with paint involving wash stages
  • Basic knowledge of reading and interpreting part blueprints and knowledge of maintaining paint line functionality
  • Experience with managing inventory of products
  • Mechanically & technically inclined.
  • Basic computer skills (MS Office Suite)
  • Prior supervisory experience required
  • Attention to detail, multi-tasking and effective time management
  • Ability to stand, bend, lift and carry
  • Excellent communication skills required both written and verbally
