Wastewater Design Engineer - Cape Town (Ref CT0122)

JG Afrika is looking to appoint a Wastewater Design Engineer to join our Cape Town office.

• Design of wastewater and related civil engineering infrastructure
• Preparation of contract documentation
• Contract administration and site involvement
• Support with Green Drop and Blue Drop compliance
• Must be willing to travel on short notice and work on site as required

• BSc / BEng / BTech in Civil Engineering
• Registered or close to registering with ECSA as a Professional Engineer/Technologist
• Valid driver's licence

• 3-10 years' post-graduation experience in wastewater infrastructure design and contract administration
• Solid understanding of wastewater treatment processes
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, and Microsoft Office (including advanced Excel, Word and MS Project)

• Proficient in wastewater treatment process design and analysis
• Strong technical capability in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, and Microsoft Office (including advanced Excel and MS Project)
• Competent in hydraulic modelling and interpretation of design data
• Ability to prepare high quality technical reports, drawings, and contract documentation
• Strong project coordination and time management skills
• Ability to troubleshoot design challenges and propose practical engineering solutions
• High level of numeracy and analytical thinking
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Detail oriented with a commitment to engineering excellence and compliance
• Demonstrates sound engineering judgment and problem solving capability
• Able to work independently while also collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams
• Professional, reliable, and able to manage responsibilities with minimal supervision
• Adaptable and able to work under pressure, including meeting tight deadlines and travelling at short notice
• Committed to maintaining health, safety, environmental, and quality standards
