Job Description
  • Supervising Warehouse Operations: Managing the daily activities of the warehouse, including receiving, storing, and shipping goods.
  • Inventory Management: Ensuring accurate inventory levels through regular cycle counts and reconciliation.
  • Staff Management: Hiring, training, and supervising warehouse staff, including delegating tasks and creating schedules.
  • Logistics Coordination: Overseeing the flow of goods in and out of the warehouse, coordinating with suppliers and transportation companies.
  • Safety and Compliance: Implementing and enforcing safety procedures, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Equipment Management: Inspecting and maintaining warehouse equipment, arranging for repairs and replacements.
  • Budgeting and Planning: Assisting in developing and managing the warehouse budget, planning expenses, and contributing to financial goals.
  • Performance Monitoring: Tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) such as order accuracy, on-time delivery, and productivity, and developing action plans to improve performance.
  • Relationship Management: Maintaining positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and transport companies.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identifying areas for improvement in warehouse operations, implementing best practices, and utilizing technology to streamline processes and improve productivity.
  • Reporting: Generating reports on warehouse performance, inventory levels, and other relevant metrics.
Qualifications
  • Proven ability to lead, manage and motivate a team, delegate tasks, and manage performance.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with staff, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyse situations, identify problems, and the skill to develop effective solutions for solving these problems.
  • Technical Skills, which includes familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory management software.
  • Knowledge and understanding of health and safety regulations, as well as warehousing and shipping practices.
