Villa Manager

Ultra-Luxury Private Residence, Hermanus

We are seeking an exceptional Villa Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of a large, ultra-luxury private residence in Hermanus. This role requires someone with meticulous attention to detail who can maintain the highest standards of presentation and service across the property while providing companionship and support to an elderly person and ensuring seamless guest experiences.

• Oversee all housekeeping and presentation standards across the ultra-luxury villa to pristine, 5-star standards including deep cleaning, organisation, and presentation
• Manage the villa property to an exceptionally high standard, ensuring pristine presentation at all times
• Conduct pre-arrival inspections to ensure every detail meets 5-star standards
• Coordinate property turnarounds between guest stays, ensuring seamless transitions and impeccable 5-star service
• Monitor and maintain consistency of service delivery
• Manage maintenance schedules and coordinate repairs across the property
• Oversee linen services, ensuring rotation, laundering, and impeccable presentation
• Coordinate and supervise gardening, grounds maintenance, and pool maintenance
• Ensure common areas and guest-facing spaces maintain 5-star presentation standards
• Prepare simple breakfasts and light meals as required
• Anticipate household needs and proactively address maintenance issues
• Manage household inventories and coordinate deliveries

• Handle all booking inquiries and confirmations across multiple platforms (direct bookings, Airbnb)
• Manage corporate booking requests and MICE enquiries
• Meet and greet guests upon arrival, ensuring a warm, professional welcome
• Serve as primary point of contact for guest needs and requests during stays
• Coordinate with local facilities (restaurants, wine tasting, activities) to deliver exceptional guest experiences
• Handle guest feedback and resolve any service issues promptly and professionally

• Train and supervise housekeeping and laundry staff to consistently deliver 5-star standards
• Conduct regular staff performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching
• Manage household staff and contractors, ensuring work is completed to specification
• Build and maintain a high-performing team dedicated to excellence
• Coordinate staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage across the property

• Provide companionship and conversation to an elderly person
• Undertake driving duties as needed for appointments, errands, and outings
• Manage pet care including walking, feeding, grooming coordination, and general wellbeing (must be comfortable with dogs)

• Proven experience managing a large, high-end private residence or luxury accommodation portfolio
• Demonstrated experience in guest services and accommodation management at 5-star level
• Strong supervisory and staff management skills with training capability
• Exceptional eye for detail with uncompromising standards
• Previous property turnover/guest preparation experience in luxury environments
• Experience implementing and maintaining operational checklists and quality control systems
• Experience with booking platforms ( Airbnb) and corporate client management
• Easy-going, friendly personality with a positive, professional attitude
• Excellent interpersonal skills with warm, service-oriented demeanour
• Clean driving license (use of vehicle provided)
• Genuine affinity for animals, particularly dogs
• High degree of flexibility and adaptability
• Physically fit and capable of hands-on work
• Discretion and respect for privacy
• Experience providing 5-star hospitality service
• Basic cooking skills (breakfasts and light meals) preferred but not essential

Working Hours - Core hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-6:00pm Weekend and additional hours required periodically - flexibility essential
