MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Your key accountabilities include:
  • Conducting daily ventilation inspections throughout underground workings.
  • Measuring, recording and analyzing ventilation parameters (airflow, temperature, humidity, gases, etc.).
  • Preparing and updating ventilation reports, logs and statutory documents.
  • Assisting in the design, installation and maintenance of ventilation systems.
  • Identifying hazards and ensuring compliance with mine health and safety legislation.
  • Supporting emergency response planning related to ventilation (fires, gas events, power failures, etc.).
  • Collaborating with production, engineering and safety teams to optimize airflow and environmental conditions.
  • Recommending improvements to ventilation systems and best practices.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE:
  • Diploma/Degree in Mine Ventilation, or related Ventilation Ticket (advantageous depending on jurisdiction).
  • Minimum 2-5 years experience in underground mine ventilation.
  • Knowledge of mine health & safety regulations and ventilation standards.
  • Experience with ventilation modeling software (Ventsim / Vuma) is an added advantage.
  • Active member of a Mine Ventilation Body or Association is an added advantage
