JOB TITLE: Vehicle Technician

DEPARTMENT: Commercial Operations (CRT)

REPORTING TO: Field Service Team Leader

LOCATION: Various

Purpose of Position

The prime objective for the Vehicle Technician is to ensure that all vehicles on site are inspected, tested and repaired on time and to maintain uptime in line with KPIs agreed with the customer. In addition, follow set SOP to monitor all activities related to fuel delivery on site, including bulk fuel delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete installation, checklists, preventative and reactive vehicle maintenance as per relevant KPI.
  • Follow SOP for receiving deliveries. Escalate when a full tanker delivery cannot fit into the tank.
  • Ensure all calls are completed within SLA and closed on time in the system. Resolve calls on first time of attendance.
  • Provide detailed feedback and communicate effectively.
  • Ensure van stock is replenished; used stock is booked out of the van stock.
  • Capture manual overrides.
  • Report faulty equipment and issues on site.
  • General maintenance and inspection of the site fuelling architecture.
  • Always adhere to all HSSE requirements, report any issues and use required PPE at all times.
  • Take pump meter readings, tank level readings, record deliveries and submit daily recon sheet.
  • Ensure the quality of work done is always exceptional and maintain a high level of professionalism.
  • Report incidents and near misses.
  • Provide support to other team members as and when required.
  • General administration of fuel records.
Personal Qualifications & Experience Education / Achievements
  • Matric with at least N2 in electrical, mechanical or electronic.
Experience / Knowledge
  • At least 2 years working experience as an Auto Electrician / technician.
Specific Skills
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Accuracy, efficiency, and reliability are key skills to be successful in this position.
  • Ability to communicate quickly and effectively both written and verbal.
