POST: TECHNICAL SUPPORT: MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER

SALARY: R per annum (Level 9) plus 37% in Lieu of Benefits

DURATION: 12 Months Fixed Term Contract

Requirements: Matric/NQF Level 4 Certificate plus a National Diploma/bachelor's degree in communication/ marketing or equivalent qualification. 5 to 7 years working experience in a marketing, communication, or Brand environment, of which three years must be at supervisory level. Understanding of the legislative framework and policies governing TVET Colleges. Experience in business and people management. Drive for results with a sense of urgency, focus, accountability, agility, and execution to deliver improved performance. Knowledge of marketing strategy, business development and corporate communication. Knowledge of current marketing trends and through-the-line media platforms that these areas can be managed successfully. Knowledge and experience in Client Relationship Management (CRM). Knowledge and experience of building a successful brand. Willingness to work under pressure and long hours including weekends. Driver's license: Code B.

Duties: Marketing and Communication Strategy and Implementation; Design, implement, support, and drive the marketing, communication, and branding strategy for the college including planning, brand promise culture, value propositions and marketing material. Engage, monitor, influence, and work closely with the full marketing value chain to deliver high quality marketing initiatives; Drive the development of integrated marketing strategies and campaigns that maximize the effectiveness of the college operations and development activities; Evaluate and monitor competitive products, services and marketing activities and channel these insights into the optimization of marketing initiatives; Provide input into all supporting media strategies, to maximize the impact of the intended campaigns for the targeted market segments; Conceptualize and execute marketing creative in conceptualizing how and when to use marketing materials and capture target audience and brainstorming and working with internal and external resources to execute new marketing ideas; Establish advertising and digital standards and guidelines for the college that drive consistency in brand messaging; Partner and interact with relevant service providers to supply materials supporting marketing concepts; Collaborate with product development, service providers, technical marketing, technology, marketing, and creative teams to drive the strategy and development of the appropriate marketing and communication solution; Effectively deliver marketing messaging to target audiences, including mobile, video, social media, etc.; Drive the implementation of communication strategies within the college; Establish mechanisms to build relationships with existing and prospective clients, intermediaries, stakeholders, business and industry and the community around college campuses; Measure and report performance of marketing campaigns, gain insight and assess against goals; Manage all stakeholders effectively in line with the college culture; Create a positive work climate and culture to energize employees, give meaning to work, minimize work disruption, and maximize employee productivity that deliver on the team goals identified for the Marketing Team; Develop and maintain productive and collaborative working relationships with peers and stakeholders; Positively influence and participate in change management initiatives; Contribute to continuous innovation through the development, sharing and implementation of new ideas; Take ownership for driving personal development and coaching; Contribute to the development of area specific budgets to minimize expenditure, in alignment with operational plans; Identify opportunities to enhance cost effectiveness and increase operational efficiency; Provide input into the risk identification processes and communicate recommendations in the appropriate manner. Lead and manage the Marketing and Communication team, including execution of HR related functions (Leave, performance management, and related functions). Provide inputs and quality assurance of college's strategic documents such annual performance plans, strategic plans. Responsible for overall marketing and branding of the college through print media and digital platforms.
